The Musabaqoh Qira’atul Kutub (MQK) team from the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) West Kalimantan branch (PWNU Kalbar) has successfully reached the finals in the national level Pekan Olahraga dan Seni Nahdlatul Ulama (Porseni NU) sports and arts event organized by the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) at the Al Muayyad Islamic boarding school in Surakarta.
According to the Porseni NU West Kalimantan Manager, Drs. H. Ahmad Faruki, M.Pd, the West Kalimantan contingent has advanced to the next round in several competing categories for both male and female participants. As of now, the finalist in the MQK category for female students is Nikmatul Maulidia, who placed third with a score of 239.
“My hope is that the participants can maintain their concentration and take care of their health until the final,” said Faruki.
The Secretary of PWNU Kalbar, Muhammad Nurdin, S.Pd, praised the West Kalimantan team’s efforts, saying, “We never imagined that West Kalimantan would make it to the finals, especially in the prestigious MQK category. The students from Java island have already proven their abilities.”
The MQK female student coach, Ustd. Salsabila, said that she continues to provide training for the participants and hopes that the NU West Kalimantan team will become champions. “Alhamdulillah, for now, the MQK female students from West Kalimantan have reached the finals. My hope is that the participants can stay focused until the competition is over and become champions in the final,” she concluded.
